CabWriter Software announces the release of Version 7 for its CabWriter Pro, CabWriter Home, CabWriter CNC and CabWriter Closet products.

CabWriter builds on the ease of use and 3D modeling capability of SketchUp and adds parametric cabinet and closet design and drawing, advanced cut list capabilities, professional shop drawing generation, sheet good optimization, and CNC integration, according to the company.

“CabWriter 7 introduces new edge-banding functionality by automatically adding notations to the cut list indicating which edges of door and carcass parts require edge banding,” the company explains. “This information is also added to printed labels and all edges needing banding will be highlighted on sheet good optimization diagrams with prominent red lines making it easy to sort your parts in real time when cutting.

“Like all parametric cabinet design programs, CabWriter has hundreds of parameters that must be configured. While this offers tremendous flexibility in cabinet construction methods, it can be difficult to keep up on the documentation for each of the parameters. To help with this, CabWriter 7 introduces context-based help. Simply click on the name of a parameter or section heading and a help window will pop up for that parameter. Less time chasing down documentation means faster drawing.”
