This time next week, it won’t BE this time next week. That’s right: The time to reset the clocks is upon us.
I love Daylight Saving Time; in fact, when I become King of the World I’ll make it permanent, so just a heads up on that. You’re welcome. I like it being light outside longer in the evenings, and the extra hour of dark in the morning makes it easier to sleep in on the rare occasion I actually get to do such an outrageous thing.
But, I have to admit that there is one thing I do like about Daylight Saving Time ending and setting the clocks back, and that’s the fact that the sun hits my garage door an hour sooner in the morning. And with the weather turning colder, that extra hour of direct sunshine on my garage door means that my woodshop will be warmer when I head out there after my breakfast, crossword and morning Jumble.
Yeah, it’s a small consolation, but when it starts getting dark at 4:30 in the afternoon I’ll take all the consolation I can get.
