The Wood Industry Association (WIA) has awarded a total of $22,850 to 20 college students pursuing education in wood technology, woodworking machinery, and related fields through its 2026 scholarship program.
The recipients include four students attending Pittsburg State University: Brady Cook and Tyler Cook of Silver Lake, Kan., Gannon Friess of Parsons, Kan., and Hannah Reilly of Wichita, Kan.
Four other scholarship winners are attending Hennepin Technical College: Bryan Budahn of Glencoe, Minn., Mae Macfarlane of Eagan, Minn., Neela Peichel of Minneapolis and Jesse Ragain of Farmington, Minn.
The remaining scholarship winners are Ian Demus of Boone, N.C. (Appalachian State University); Noah Donohoe of Sioux Falls, S.D. (Minnesota State University, Mankato); Desmond Hennigar of Ottawa (Université Laval); Periwinkle Jeffers of Decatur, Ga. (Rochester Institute of Technology); Ryan Jones of Dracut, Mass. (Maine College of Art & Design); Sarah Kane of Summit, N.J. (Vermont State University); Cole Orner of Selinsgrove, Pa. (Millersville University of Pennsylvania), and Connor Pagels of Simi Valley, Calif. (Cerritos College).
