Horizontal shredders benefit wood shops of all sizes
WEIMA’s horizontal shredders allow woodworking operations to spend less time and money managing wood waste and more time doing what they do best: manufacturing awesome products. These wood shredders come in a variety of rotor widths and can be equipped with infeed conveyors and discharge augers to make wood waste processing automated and efficient.
The newest addition to this shredding line is the Horizontal Beaver 600, which comes equipped with a 600 mm rotor width. This machine is modeled after a long-time WEIMA best-seller, the Horizontal Beaver 300. The wider rotor width allows panel scrap to be shredded right where it is created at lower capacities without having to precut the boards prior to shredding.
Horizontal shredders have optional additional features including vibrating infeed conveyors that keep the material consistently moving toward the rotor. There are multiple discharge options as well, including pneumatic discharge, screw auger discharge, or a discharge conveyor.
Locating a horizontal shredder near the machine where scrap is produced, rather than in a central location within the warehouse, can increase safety measures within an operation as well as decrease the time spent moving wood waste around the shop.
This type of shredding machine is ideal for companies with lower scrap volume and an increased need for space savings. A shredder is also an environmental investment, as it allows companies to reintegrate or dispose of the shredded wood scrap more responsibly and efficiently.
