Carter Products, a longtime manufacturer of accessories for band saws, has brought some diversification to its product line with the addition of the MagFence, a fast, cost-effective way to attach a rip fence to most popular band saws, table saws, or any other machine with a ferrous-metal table. The aluminum fence is available in two sizes, 16" and 19-1/2", and uses powerful rare-earth magnets to firmly attach to work surfaces.
Wednesday, 31 December 2008 15:18Weinig, manufacturer of the Unimat and Powermat series of molders, unveiled its latest molder, the Variomat, at IWF 2008. Company literature describes the machine as the “the only molder in the world that can handle four-sided profiling, and then finish-cut the end of the workpiece.” The basic machine is a four-sided molder, but with the addition of options such as the PowerLock system, the multi-function table, a memory system, and a fifth spindle, the Variomat’s capabilities increase to jobs such as creating raised panel doors, cutting any type of frames, and other types of work.
