STX-250B X-BAND SAW KIT is billed as the world’s only one-hand cordless band saw. The band saw, manufactured by Stout Tool Corp., is powered by an 18-volt Ni-Cd battery and is capable of cutting wood, metal, plastic, aluminum, brass and other materials, according to the company. The band saw measures 15" long x 9-5/16" wide, has a cutting capacity of 2-1/2" and weighs only 9 lbs., including the battery. Designed primarily for job-site use, the band saw features a quick-change blade release and top-mounted safety switch. The STX-250B Kit sells for approximately $179 and includes the cordless band saw, one battery, a trickle battery charger and nylon tool bag. CMT BOWL AND TRAY KIT provides a method to make divided bowls and trays without using a lathe or CNC machine. The kit includes two templates, a bowl-and-tray router bit, a collet extension, written instructions and an instructional DVD. The two templates allow the user to make a variety of shapes and styles of bowls and trays with a plunge router. The collet extension is used to make bowls up to 2-3/4" deep. A solid steel base holds the gauge in place so the user can position the jig with one hand, set the caliper to the desired height, and then raise the bit or blade to match. The digital height gauge has an adjustment range of zero to 5" and can be zeroed out by setting the caliper at table level and pushing a button. The gauge offers readouts in inches and millimeters. PORTAPRO CORDLESS GLUE GUN, from Master Appliance, is a butane-powered hot-melt glue gun for use in woodworking, automotive, electronic, industrial and packaging applications. The gun reaches a working temperature in less than four minutes and operates up to 392 degrees. It contains a 200-watt heater that delivers up to 1.9 lbs. of glue per hour and is capable of running continuously for up to 140 minutes on butane gas, according to the manufacturer. Features include a safety lock on the fuel-flow control wheel to prevent unintentional gas flow, instant cutoff of glue flow, a built-in folding stand and fuel level window. The cordless glue gun, model GG-100, comes standard with a general-purpose brass application nozzle, four 1/2" x 6" glue sticks and sells for $46.45.
