FACULTY POSITION - WOOD TECHNOLOGY

   

DESCRIPTION:

Instructor/Assistant Professor – tenure track, nine month academic year appointment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach classroom and lab activities within the Wood Technology program.Courses taught
may include (but not limited to) basic machinery and joinery, kitchen cabinetry, cabinetry computer software, veneering and laminate applications, AutoCAD and computer aidedmanufacturing software. Flexibility exists to match faculty strengths and interest within

program offerings. Additional responsibilities include: assisting short and long term strategic planning and departmental promotion; performing student advisement; developing and implementing curriculum; serving on departmental, college and university committees; maintaining professional educational and industry contacts; continuous scholarly endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Appropriate baccalaureate degree with significant progress (9 credit hours) towards
completion of a master’s degree. Completion of master’s degree will be required for tenure-earning position and tenure; an earned doctorate will be required for advancement beyond
the rank of associate professor. Three years of related work within the wood manufacturing industry, teaching or training experience preferred. Appropriate industrial experience will be emphasized in the selection process. Candidate must show competency in AutoCAD and
CAM software, MasterCAM will be given preference.

August 16, 2010
