Description
Making Objects with Reclaimed Timbers with Brad Reed Nelson. Beginning with reclaimed timbers, students design around its preordained dimensions and character. Class begins with slides and discussions to assess the material structure, texture, integrity and the inherent character of reclaimed timbers. Demonstrations cover a variety of joinery techniques, ways of accurately machining timbers, and how to re-contextualize the material. Students work on small exercises before moving onto a larger project. Tuition: $675, plus studio fees. www.andersonranch.org
