Getting the most out of your lathe with Phil Lowe. While focusing on spindle turning, you will learn the grinding techniques for the proper angles of parting tools, gouges and skews, as well as the honing of the edges needed to make clean proper cutting. Using the techniques of making cove, parting and roundover cuts, you will be taught to combine them to create complex turnings for candlesticks, lamps and many more useful objects. Tuition: $695, plus $75 for materials.
