Rhode Island furniture show sees boost in sales

atg_dwightOffering American-made, handcrafted furniture, accessories and art, the 21st annual Rhode Island Fine Furnishings Show was held Nov. 4-6 at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center in Pawtucket, R.I. Given its timing, show director Karla Little says the show surpassed expectations.

Early Rhode Island furniture featured at Yale exhibit

high_chest_of_drawers“Art and Industry in Early America: Rhode Island Furniture, 1650-1830” is on display at the Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Conn., through Jan. 9, 2017. The groundbreaking exhibition opened Aug. 19 and presents a comprehensive survey of Rhode Island furniture from the colonial and early Federal periods.



Wendell Castle exhibit on display in upstate New York

Bright_WoodWorks“Wendell Castle Imagined” opened Aug. 17 at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s University Gallery in Rochester, N.Y., and runs through Nov. 11. The exhibit is the first to focus on the studio furniture maker’s creative process. Work includes drawings and select sculptural and dimensional work.



Acadia exhibit comes to Maine in October
