Pritam & Eames pays homage to early years

43_atgThe 30th anniversary exhibition at Pritam & Eames in East Hampton, N.Y., “Speaking of Furniture,” opened May 27 and will run through Aug. 2. The show, which takes its name from the book, “Speaking of Furniture: Conversations with 14 American Masters,” features work by Wendell Castle, Jere Osgood, Judy Kensley McKie, David Ebner, Richard Scott Newman, Hank Gilpin, Alphonse Mattia, John Dunnigan, Wendy Maruyama, James Schriber, Timothy Philbrick, Michael Hurwitz and Thomas Hucker.

‘Guitar Heroes’ featured at the Met

47_guitarheros_01New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition, "Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsman from Italy to New York," through July 4, which features approximately 50 stringed instruments produced by master luthiers John D'Angelico, James D'Aquisto and John Monteleone.

Craft invitational opens in D.C.

Masters of the Medium will be honored

51_mastersofmedium_01Five accomplished artists will be presented to James Renwick Alliance members on March 27 at Spring Craft Weekend, its annual fundraising event. All are well-known and much appreciated, as indicated by the number of votes cast for each person last summer, and all have work displayed in the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery.

MFA Boston opens Art of Americas

46_mfaboston_01The new Art of Americas Wing at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston opened Nov. 20 after 10 years of planning and building. It includes 53 new galleries that contain more than 5,000 works of art over an area of more than 133,000 sq. ft.
